With his first time on the business side of a convention table, Marshall networked with fellow local comic book artists, started a local "jam session" for the Boston Comics Roundtable, promoted his "Art of the Comic Book" class and reconnected with long-lost colleges. He also gave an impromptu demonstration on the Ames Lettering Guide, in anticipation of his Traditional Media Techniques session for this year's Free Comic Book Day.
The Boston Comic Con is committed to bringing the biggest and best comic book show to New England. The Boston Comic Con hosts over 13,000 square feet of vendors selling comic books, toys, posters, and other pop culture memorabilia. The Boston Comics Roundtable (BCR) is the only organization of its kind in Boston. It was created in 2006 to unite Boston-based comics creators in the spirit of camaraderie and professional development. With a strong grassroots sprit, the group focuses on promoting local talent and supporting local business. Marshall earned critical acclaim for his comic book work. In addition, he teaches Art of the Comic Book for Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Through his one-man creative services company Marshall Art Studio, has over 20 years of experience in web design + development, print design, illustration and overall content beautification. His studio provides these services for a variety of public, private and non-profit organizations.
