David Marshall - Comic Book Art | The Watchman
Substance
Every young artist has to a Kafka story. Guess I was still trying to drive the superhero genre out of my head. Since I had nothing else, I replaced the superhero genre with the first thing that made an impression.
Form
This is also one of 3 pieces for which I've ever used crosshatching. The original art is beautiful, even now. However, coverage took a lot of time.
- 10" x 15" live area on 14" x 17" bristol paper
- Higgins Black Magic india ink
- Speedball nib #512 (art and lettering)
- Short-handle round #4 sable brush (spotted blacks)
